How do I join an online session via the MyDMU Timetable?
Answer
You can view and join an online teaching session from your Timetable 'tile' in MyDMU. In this calendar view, you can view further event or session details by selecting an entry.
The online meeting link is the blue text (hyperlinked) that you see under the heading Online Meeting when you scroll down in the event details (see computer screenshot below). If you are using the mobile app of MyDMU and cannot see the link, sign in to MyDMU via a computer or laptop.
Note: there may be some compatibility issues with some browsers and Operating Systems. It is therefore recommended to install the Teams App on your computer, smartphone or tablet. To ensure you do not encounter join error issues, follow the below steps:
- Right-click to on meeting link to Copy
- Paste into a new browser tab.
- On windows – use Edge or Chrome.
- On MACs – use Chrome, not Safari.
- You will then have the option to continue with Teams in the browser; download the MS Teams App, or open the MS Teams App (if installed).
- Sign in with your student email and DMU student credentials, when prompted. If you sign in as a Guest, please sign out and re-login with your student email.
- Note: If you see a window that asks you to type in your name, then will log you in as a guest.

NOTE: The meeting URL included in your timetable event details should only be used if it is an online-only teaching session; or where prior arrangements have been agreed for remote access in lieu of your face-to-face class. If you have any queries about the online links, please contact your module tutor or Faculty Advice Centre.
