Assignment Start-Date Online Calculator
When is it recommended to start working on my assignments?
Answer
It is recommended to leave about least six weeks to work on an assignment. This can help you plan the time you wish to set for tasks needed to complete your assignments. For example:
- Research (Journal Articles, Textbooks, Databases, Other Resources).
- Compile and format your references.
- Write-up drafts and proofread (proof-listen with assistive technology).
- Format your file for submission (e.g format Word for report style, export PowerPoint as a recording, submit a PDF of a poster etc).
- Attend workshops or tutorials at the Library to advance your study, referencing and writing skills.
- Learn new digital skills to format Word documents, work in Excel or create a presentation in PowerPoint.
The below calculator can help you find a recommended start date based on your assignment's due date.
It is only a recommendation, but you may find it useful to decide when you wish to start working on an assignment and then add the dates to your own student planner.
You can also use Outlook Calendar or the MS To Do Task app to set reminders in your student calendar and task list.
