There are laptops available for DMU students to loan for up to 3 hours at a time.  They are not available to external library members or DMU staff.

The student laptop cabinets are located just inside the Learning Zone on the Ground Floor of Kimberlin Library.

To borrow a laptop:

  1. Scan your student ID card
  2. Enter your Library PIN
  3. Read and agree to the terms and conditions
  4. Press “Finish” to leave without a receipt, or "Print receipt" if you would like one
  5. Identify which locker has the selected laptop (the locker will be flashing)
  6. Open locker, disconnect from power supply, close locker
  7. Check receipt for due time of return (currently set to 3 hours)

Returning a laptop:

  1. Scan your student ID card

  3. Identify the locker to return the laptop to by reading the on‑screen information and looking for the light.
  4. Open the locker, connect the power cable correctly (this action is what returns the laptop from your account and failure to do so will result in a fine), close the locker door
  5. Press  Finish

  1. If you would like a receipt of the last successful return of a laptop by you in this particular unit, then firstly press the “Print Return Receipt” button
