Q. Can I take a laptop out of the Kimberlin Library?

There are laptops available for DMU students to loan for up to 3 hours at a time.  They are not available to external library members or DMU staff.

Self‑service lending of laptops is for a period of 3 hours.

The laptops are allowed to leave the building.

Students can borrow only one laptop at a time, but they can return the laptop and borrow another straight away, it just won’t be the one they were working on.

If they are late returning, fines will accrue at a rate of £1 per half hour or part thereof, with a 15‑minute grace period before the first £1 is applied.

It is not possible to reserve a laptop.

While we hope students log off before returning the laptops, ITMS have included a forced log off to prevent access between different students.
