You may have sketched and planned your poster and about to add content, it can help to use PowerPoints gridlines and guides.
In your open MS PowerPoint:
Choose View > Show and select Ruler, Gridlines and Guides (according to preference).
Note these won’t print, toggle them on/off as needed to view your poster.
Tip 1- You can add more vertical or horizontal guides in PowerPoint by highlighting one guide line with your cursor and holding down the CTRL key over one of your guide lines, this will create another guide line, drag where needed. To remove any just highlight with your cursor and drag off the slide.
Tip 2 - View your slide in slideshow to view how it looks and shaping up.
