There is a connection issue currently affecting Lexis+ UK results that display from the Library Search discovery service.
DMU students and staff may discover relevant Library Search results (online journal articles, law cases) that are accessible through the online Lexis+ UK legal database. The Journal of Financial Crime article in the example screenshot below is available to access through the Lexis+ UK site:
Library Search should link to the correct journal article on the Lexis+ UK platform, but this is not currently happening. Library Search will still take you to the Lexis+ UK site (after you have entered your DMU Single Sign On account) but the service is currently linking at the journal title level, rather than at the individual article title level. You will see from the screenshot below that Library Search currently forwards you to the Journal of Financial Crime title page record on Lexis+ UK, from where you can view all published volumes and issues for that publication title:
You can still connect to the relevant electronic content, but it is going to take a few more steps to get to the correct article. The current advice is to enter the specific article title information into the Enter search terms bar on the Lexis+ UK platform and click on the red magnifying glass icon (to the right of the search bar) to run a search. This will run an additional search on Lexis+ UK, but only within the journal title in which the requested article is published. Lexis+ UK will display its search results, and the online article that you want to view will be the top result:
Clicking on the top (or the next most relevant) result will then connect you to the requested online content:
We understand that the current Lexis+ UK/Library Search linking functionality is not ideal, and may cause potential frustration for library users wanting to access Lexis+ UK online content. The library will continue to work with Lexis and the Library Search service provider to look to improve linking to Lexis content in the future.
Click here to access the Lexis+ UK resource directly through the library Database A-Z link.
