Some library users may not be able to use the Adobe Digital Editions app on their Android phone or tablet to download eBooks. There is a known issue for some Android devices which will not let the user activate the Adobe Digital Editions app - users may see the following error message: "This app is not available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android"

If you see this error message when attempting to use the Adobe Digital Editions app on your Android device, we would recommend using the PocketBook Reader app as an alternative. Other Android reader apps may be compatible, as long as the reader is able to handle Adobe DRM (Digital Rights Management).

The following support article from one of the library's main eBook providers, ProQuest, provides more information on the Adobe Digital Editions/Android error https://support.proquest.com/s/article/Ebook-Central-How-do-I-download-the-PocketBook-Reader-app-on-an-Android-device?language=en_US
