Can someone check my references for me?

Answer

We don’t provide a ‘proofreading service’ for your referencing.  However, there are a number of ways you can get feedback and guidance on your referencing:

  • Book a referencing tutorial with a librarian (30 mins).  This can be either face-to-face, online via Teams or as an email referencing tutorial.  We will look at your draft work and give an indication of where you may need to make changes to your citations and reference list.  If you choose the email referencing tutorial option, you can upload your draft work and we will provide some feedback by email within 24 hours of the time you booked.
  • Come along to our Academic Support drop-ins with a draft (remember to choose the Finding Information / Referencing option when you sign up).  You will have around 10 minutes with a librarian who can look at your referencing and suggest improvements.
  • If you have a quick question about a specific reference, use our Just Ask LibChat service or email the Just Ask service (justask@dmu.ac.uk) for a quick response via email.
