Is there a PDF version of the referencing guide for me to print?

Answer

We do not produce a PDF version of our referencing guide because the Cite Them Right website is constantly being updated with new guidance and expanded coverage of source types.  This means that a shortened PDF version would quickly become outdated and need frequent revision.  It would also risk old versions with incorrect information staying in circulation online.

We recommend using the Cite Them Right website as your referencing handbook.  You can create a personal account on Cite Them Right so that you can save your frequently used pages on the site for quick reference.

If you have a preference for print formats, you can borrow a copy of the latest edition of the book written by the authors of Cite Them Right from the Library.  You could also print out just the sections on Cite Them Right that you refer to most frequently e.g. formatting references for books, journals, websites with an organisation as author, guidelines etc.

If you would like an overview of the principles of referencing, use the basics of referencing section on Cite Them Right or work through one of the tutorials listed on the DMU Referencing Guide.
